Cheng Wen-tsan is a Taiwanese politician who currently serves as the Mayor of Taoyuan City. He was born on March 26, 1960, in Pingtung County, Taiwan, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture from National Cheng Kung University in Tainan.
Cheng began his political career in 1993 when he was elected to the Pingtung County Council. He later served as a legislator in the Legislative Yuan from 1999 to 2005, representing the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
In 2014, Cheng ran for the position of Taoyuan City Mayor but was narrowly defeated by his opponent. He ran again in 2018 and won, becoming the first DPP mayor of Taoyuan in 20 years.
